Your YAML stays on your device

Everything you paste, type, open or drop is processed by JavaScript in your browser, in a Web Worker. There is no upload, no server-side processing and no analytics or session recording of content.

What is stored, and where

Drafts and custom presets are saved in your browser’s IndexedDB so you can recover work. Theme choice and the private-mode switch are kept in localStorage. Turn on Private mode in the workspace to keep drafts in memory only; this removes the saved draft for that tool. Clearing site data in your browser removes everything. Local storage is not a backup or encryption.

Network

The site loads its own static files (scripts, styles, fonts) from formatyaml.com. A service worker may cache those files for offline use. No third-party scripts are loaded by default. If advertising is enabled in the future, this page will say so before any advertising script loads.
